Bamboo Shows 087 – Marouchka

Resident DJ at Kiosk Radio and a member of the Poxcat collective, Marouchka is also a creative force as a graphic designer at bye byebinary, where she advocates for gender diversity. Her musical tastes range from obscure 1980s EBM to infectious acid electro, including forgotten gems of new wave and, occasionally, trance treasures, while always striving to give prominence to women and queer artists.
For Bamboo Shows, she came with an anti-rock’n’roll, pro-guitar mix celebrating the instrument beyond the usual clichés of oversized riffs and testosterone-fuelled solos. A fitting detour for two children of musicians whose fathers once shared songs and studio sessions. Inside: melodies improvised in tour vans, air-guitar sounds, banjos and basses, greasers, surfers and lovable losers, the lingering spirits of The Cramps and Chuck Berry, and perhaps even a phoenix or two.
Featuring wondrous folk, post-punk and other emo vibes from NAR, Leslie Winer, So Klarity and even beloved Js Donny or Naomie Klaus.
